New Moon set to scare?

I’m actually around half way through my new copy of ‘New Moon’ and I can see that it’s gonna be a darker movie I guess, but will it really be scary? Well that’s what Robert thinks.

Twilight star Robert Pattinson said that he thinks fans will be “scared” of the film’s sequel, New Moon as it gets deeper into the dark side of his character. Robert, 23, plays dreamy vampire Edward Cullen in the hit film series, and has made some revelations on “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”.

Talking about the new flick, he said: “It’s based on a mixtures of memories and nightmares and there are a lot of surreal elements. Bella has basically gone nuts…” Actress Kristen Stewart plays vampire Edward’s human love interest, Bella Swan, in the upcoming film.

He added: “I get to do some really creepy stuff. It’s really, really different than Twilight. Looking at the storyboards I think that a lot of people will actually be kind of scared in this one. “In Twilight, I couldn’t really find a way to make Edward scary. I think this one is a lot more psychological.”

Robert to get some competition?

According to the latest reports Robert Pattinson may get more competition in the looks department in the upcoming ‘New Moon’. To be honest as far as I am concerned there has always been competition in Taylor, Kellan and Jackson just to name a few, and honestly girls, it’s not a bad thing to add to the list of hotties..

The latest is that actor Jamie Campbell-Bower, who will play Caius, will give star Robert Pattison (who plays Edward Cullen) a run for his money in the heartthrob department.

The Caius character is one of the leaders of the ancient Italian vampire clan, the Volturi. Somehow, in my mind’s eye, I pictured the Volturi as ancient and crusty like Viktor in the vamp movie series “Underworld.” Got that wrong.

Campbell-Bower is adorable. He will have to be a great actor to seem threatening, especially after his sweet musical performance as Johnny Depp’s protege in “Sweeney Todd.” When he’s not dressed like a waif, he cleans up really well.

Kellan Lutz talks New Moon

Depsite being an Edward site, we know how much you all love the rest of the Twilight cast and characters, so here is a short snippet from an interview with Kellan Lutz on ‘New Moon’:

You know, sometimes amid all this Robert Pattinson Mania, we forget just how darn hot his Twilight and New Moon co-star Kellan Lutz is. Shame on us! Check out this excerpt from the accompanying interview from their July 4th issue to find out how Kellan gets those abs, and what it’s like to work up-close with (gasp!) R-Patts himself!

What is your typical day like on the set of New Moon, the sequel to Twilight?

New Moon was a very relaxed film to work on and it all starts with how easy going director Chris Wietz is. That vibe rolls down to the crew and actors. It makes it so easy when we’ve all worked together before. Everything was so well organized, making it easy for the actors to do our job. We had more time to just laugh and make jokes and hang out; it’s important to have a cast that gels the way we do and you’ll see that more in the second film.

How did you prepare to play Emmett in New Moon?

I prepared a lot by delving into the back-story for my character, Emmett, that I created while shooting the first movie so I just picked up that same notebook again for New Moon and added a little more to what I thought embodied this character. I find it easy to get in the role; Emmett is the perfect match for me. I do love creating a back-story for characters; it helps you transform into the role and it makes it yours.

Coldplay to be part of New Moon soundtrack?

There’s still no official track listing for the ‘New Moon’ soundtrack, but if the latest rumours are right then our very on British group Coldplay could be on there.

Coldplay could “very likely” feature on the soundtrack to New Moon, according to the band’s official website. The group’s Q&A page, managed by themselves and their handlers, hinted that there is a strong possibility that a Coldplay track could be selected for the highly-anticipated sequel to vampire romance Twilight.

“It’s very likely that a Coldplay song will end up on the soundtrack to the Twilight sequel,” read one response to a fan query.

“Given that Stephenie Meyer has credited Coldplay, among others, on the inner sleeve for ‘being instrumental in staving off the writer’s block’.”

Meyer has often credited her favourite bands for inspiring her writing. Other musicians to get a name check in her book credits include Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and Muse.

Paramore, who featured on the original soundtrack, recently played down speculation that they would contribute any further songs to the franchise, while My Chemical Romance have also ruled out the likelihood of a collaboration.

New graphics added

So I had a little bit of free time and thought I would make some graphics for the site. I used to do these for my old Charmed site and they were a popular idea so I have made some for you. Basically they are team support adoptables, that means graphics that you display which have our url on them so other fans can come here and get there own! I have created both Team Edward and Team Jacob support banners (I know many of you love Jacob). Anyway hope you like them, feel free to save them and use wherever you feel like it. Oh and please note that they are permanently available in the graphics section.

Cast heads to Vancouver

Are you lucky enough to live in or near Vancouver?? Well you could be in luck as the Twilight cast are heading there soon for the filming of ‘Eclipse’.

The cast of the blockbuster vampire movies returns to Vancouver Aug. 17 to begin shooting Eclipse, the third instalment in the series based on Stephanie Meyer’s books.

This will be second trip this year to our town for young actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner and the rest of the on-screen heartthrobs, who were in town earlier this spring filming New Moon, the second film in the series.

And you know what that means: celebrity spotting at trendy Yaletown hangouts like Glowbal and, of course, a multitude of celebrity sightings and plenty of buzz and perhaps more than a few squeals as fans desperately seek a glimpse of their idols out and about in the city.

The Twilight gang will head to Vancouver Film Studios for the two-month shoot, with Eclipse filming scheduled to wrap up on Oct. 31, and the movie reportedly set for release June 30, 2010.

And if you don’t think that the Halloween connection is deliberate then you should never pursue a career in marketing, because it’s perfect timing to kick off the publicity blitz for the Nov. 20 release of New Moon.

The third instalment in the Twilight franchise will reportedly begin filming this summer. According to Comingsoon.net, vampire romance Eclipse will shoot from August 17 until October 31 at the Vancouver Film Studios in Canada.

The reported filming dates mean that the highly-anticipated movie will have finished shooting before sequel New Moon is released this November.

Twilight, based on the best-selling novel by Stephenie Meyer, has grossed over $370 million worldwide since its release last year. Eclipse is scheduled to hit cinemas in summer 2010.

Twilight stars @ Vision awards

Unfortunately Rob wasn’t there but a few of his co-stars made an appearance to collect an award at the 36th Vision Awards.

It wasn’t the Forks High School prom, but it was definitely an occasion worthy of playing dress up. “Twilight” stars Ashley Greene, Taylor Lautner, Billy Burke, Gil Birmingham and Christian Serratos were on hand at the 36th annual Vision Awards this weekend to accept a Film of Vision award for “Twilight.”

Ashley Greene sauntered down the red carpet in an oh-so-cute black Dolce & Gabana dress with a surprise accessory: a wedding ring!  “I had it filming ‘Twilight’ and I just kept it on,” she told Radar of Jasper’s ring.

Not to be outdone by his female co-stars, Taylor Lautner cut a fine form in a charcoal suit and purple tie as he spoke at the awards.

Jackson talks ‘New Moon’

We know that though your affections are mostly for Edward (this being an Edward site an’ all), but we also noticed how many Jasper fans there are out there so here’s a short piece from the man himself Jackson Rathbone talking about ‘New Moon’:

“What’s funny is that when everyone returned for the first day of filming NEW MOON, the entire cast was in Peter Facinelli’s room, and it was like a family reunion,” Rathbone says. “It felt like we had only been away for a month; it didn’t seem like a year. So it was really nice to get back together and be in that family environment. In terms of having a new director, nothing really changed too much. There was a different subtle vibe, because the director manages the energy off the set. But it was great. We all wanted to come together and make a great work of art for the fans, because it’s about what they want to see.”

“I saw the NEW MOON trailer. It looks amazing. I’m really excited about it.’ I get lots of fan mail, and it’s very sweet, and so many people are talking about the trailer and how cool it is and how excited they are to see the movie.”

“It’s one of those things where the trailer drops and suddenly the film has more reality to it,” Rathbone continues. “The fans are like, ‘Yeah, NEW MOON is coming out. They’re still making it. That’s great.’ And that’s only the beginning. They didn’t show the entire thing. NEW MOON is going to be an action-packed movie. And then there’s the love story. The film has lots of elements that people have been waiting to sink their teeth into. Sorry, I had to use that pun!”

Off topic: I won’t be on here much today because it’s my birthday.. yay.. will let you know if I get any Twilight related goodies *hopes*

Is ‘New Moon’ too depressing for the fans?

You don’t need me to tell you that ‘New Moon’ is on it’s way later this year, but could it be that the love and angst be too much for some fans? Rob thinks it might be…

Actor Robert Pattinson says he is a bit concerned at how Twilight teen fans will respond to New Moon up on the big screen. In his interview with Reuters Pattinson says, “The book of ‘New Moon,’ the majority of it is incredibly depressing. Obviously ‘Twilight’ was about finding first love and the difficulties of that, but ‘New Moon’ is really about loss and reconciliation, but the reconciliation isn’t completely full.” He then adds, “It’s a strange story to have for a market that, I guess, wants to see a love story.”

I don’t know how much of a problem it will be, Harry Potter made it through some rather dark tones without losing any fans. I have read New Moon and would suggest to all Mom’s of Twilight fans do so as well. Then you can talk about the book with your child and together, you can decide if it a movie she would want to see.

Personally, I think it is extremely important for parents to talk to their teens about how Bella reacts to Edward leaving in New Moon. The depth of her reaction is more like that of someone who has lost a spouse of many years and not that of someone they have known for a few months. Discussing how she could have, and should have, handled the situation may help them in their own relationships.
